THEO E. SYDNEY NSW
Working with Tony has been an incredibly positive experience and I’m genuinely grateful for his support throughout this journey.
I reached out to Tony when I started questioning my relationship with alcohol and the role it was playing in my life. Alcohol had always been a regular part of my routine. I wasn’t a “big” drinker, but I was drinking almost every day.
The moment that really scared me was when I realised I was using alcohol as a coping mechanism during a period of grief. It wasn’t just about relaxing or having fun anymore. It was a way to avoid dealing with pain.
I took a three-month break from drinking which helped but once life picked up again, I slowly fell back into old habits. Every time I tried to take another break, I struggled to maintain it.
I overthought everything, felt like a failure if I had a drink, and put a lot of pressure on myself. It became a frustrating cycle that left me feeling discouraged.
As I became more aware, I noticed clear differences in my energy, sleep, gym performance, and how I showed up in my relationship depending on whether I was drinking or not. I was constantly taking short breaks, days or a week or two but never felt like I was making real progress.
Working with Tony completely changed how I relate to alcohol. He helped me reframe the process, be kinder to myself, and move away from the all-or-nothing mindset.
I learned to treat the journey as an experiment, not a test I could fail. Through the course material and Tony’s guidance, I developed trust in myself and realised I didn’t need to rely on sheer willpower or feel like I was “giving up” anything if I wasn't drinking.
I can now make intentional choices around drinking or not drinking and still fully enjoy the moment.
I can’t recommend Tony enough for anyone who is questioning their relationship with alcohol, whether you’re simply curious about drinking less or you’ve reached a point where you know something needs to change entirely.
Tony brings a rare combination of insight, compassion and practical tools that actually work in real life. He creates a safe, non-judgmental space while still offering clear guidance grounded in his own personal experience, which made all the difference for me. Thank you.

NATHAN D. SYDNEY NSW
Hi I'm Nathan 43 years old from Sydney,
My drinking started as a teenager and has always been a problem for me.
Before I met Tony I was in a dark place with my drinking.
My drinking went from a few beers every second night to straight vodka in the morning.
I knew this could not continue so I reached out to Tony and also attended rehab.
Within a 4 or 5 month period I have managed to kick this nasty habit, with the help of Tony.
I'm feeling better and thinking better for it.
Finally I'm getting my life back!

PAUL E. TORQUAY VIC
Paul is a successful entrepreneur and business owner in his early 40's.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to Tony for his support over these past few months. In just 3 months, I've transformed my relationship with alcohol - going from consuming 1-2 slabs weekly (2-3 drinks nightly and more on weekends) to being completely alcohol-free.
Today marks my 100th day without a drink, and remarkably, I don't miss it at all. During this journey, I've successfully navigated several traditionally "boozy" situations: an international conference, a week-long holiday, and three international flights.
Now, I'm heading to a wedding with my old soccer team - an event that would have previously centered around drinking. Instead of anticipating the alcohol while dreading the 2-3 day hangover, I'm genuinely looking forward to celebrating with a clear head. Most importantly, I'll be fresh and focused on Monday morning, ready to continue building my second business - a significant undertaking that's already showing promising growth.
This newfound energy has been transformative. The positive impacts extend far beyond me - my wife, children, and team are all noticeably happier. I have more energy and presence for everything that matters: work, family, and personal goals.
Tony's approach helped me reframe my entire perspective on drinking. The process was never overwhelming or confrontational - in fact, it was far easier than I anticipated.
For anyone considering this journey and wanting to make lasting changes without relying on willpower alone, I strongly encourage you to reach out to Tony. I cannot thank him enough for his guidance and support.
Oh, and I've lost 5-6 kg as an added bonus!

Rod h. adelaide SA
Rod is a retired gentleman in his early 70's.
Everyone, doctors and family, told me I needed to stop drinking, but no-one told me how.
Where I grew up men’s drinking was considered ‘normal’. Same as in my working life in IT. Deals were made in restaurants and pubs with spirits and beer. Alcohol was just part of life. Like breathing or eating.
But at some stage, alcohol was no longer a social or work activity. Especially after I retired. Alcohol was something I did in isolation and without knowing it my personality changed.
I knew something was wrong, but what could I do about it? I tried moderate or controlled drinking and that only made the drinking worse.
As I drifted into full-blown alcoholism, my life began to crash. I had numerous falls and ended up in hospital several times with broken bones. I lost the use of my muscles and had to use a walking frame. I could no longer drive. My wife left me and I would go for days without speaking to another human being.
But I still couldn’t stop. At some deep-down level, I believed that alcohol was essential to my survival. Despite all the losses!
Then I discovered the book This Naked Mind by Annie Grace. That was when my attitude towards alcohol began to change.
I decided to give Sobertides a try and began a coaching program with Tony. During those sessions I gained a knowledge of what alcohol is really about and how it controlled my thinking.
Tony turned my life around. With our weekly sessions I learnt how to stop drinking and how to change my relationship with alcohol. I have a life – a good life. I no longer needed the walking frame and my wife and I have a happy relationship.
Tony was great to work with. He was down to earth, practical, positive with a great sense of humour.
I would recommend him to anyone who is worried about their alcohol intake.
